Choosing an Insurance Company

November 29, 2010 Posted by admin

‘To insure is to assure’, says the catch line of a prominent ad of an insurance company. Insurance enables people to recover their losses in case of an unfortunate accident or loss. By obtaining an insurance policy, you can protect yourself from any form of risk to your life, property, health, or commodities.

Typically, there are several types of insurance; some of the most common ones being life insurance, health insurance, auto insurance, property insurance, and travel insurance. While health insurance takes care of your financial needs during an illness or injury, car insurance takes care of the loss or damages to your vehicle, depending on the type of car insurance selected. However, it can be a daunting task for most people to choose a suitable insurance company from the myriad companies in the market. Therefore, it is advisable to select an insurance company based on certain parameters to get the most from your insurance policy.

Compare Insurance Rates

Rates have always been a vital deciding factor while selecting an insurance company. You can obtain online quotes of various companies that offer policies providing the same type of coverage. This will facilitate easy comparison and help you to get a clearer picture of the current insurance scenario.

Company Credibility

You may come across insurance companies that offer the same type of coverage you require, but at an unbelievably low price. In such a case, it is advisable to check the credibility of the company and inquire why their rates are so low. You can check on the reputation of a particular insurance company through the Better Business Bureau. It could be possible that the company exclusively sells only that type of insurance and is specialized in that particular form of coverage. Another reason could be that the company is relatively new in the insurance market. New companies usually offer lower insurance premiums simply to carve their niche in the insurance market.

Agents and Insurance brokers

If you are new to the insurance market, it may help to obtain the services of a skilled insurance broker. Insurance brokers have in-depth knowledge of changing trends in the insurance industry and can guide you to select an appropriate insurance policy. Many reputed companies sell their policies through their own network of insurance agents. These agents analyze your insurance requirements and accordingly guide you to a suitable plan.

Full Disclosure of any pre-existing conditions

Before purchasing any type of insurance, it is important for customers to divulge all relevant details to the insurance company. If you are buying a health insurance, for example, it is essential to mention any pre-existing medical conditions in your application. In any case, the underwriter, who processes the applications, will surely look into your history and find out about any such conditions.

You are the best judge

It is important that you evaluate the odds of opting for any particular insurance company or coverage. After assessing all your insurance requirements and the terms and conditions applicable for the necessary coverage, you can select an insurance company accordingly. Also, make sure that the company you choose offers you the flexibility of increasing your coverage options as per your changing needs.

Double-check that you have obtained adequate information about deductibles, add-ons and tax benefits, as each company differs in the benefits and features offered. It is important to read and understand the small print before finalizing on a choice. A couple of other factors to consider when choosing coverage are: customer service and rate increases.

Assure for yourself a future free from the insecurities of life by not only insuring your life and property, but by also ensuring that you get the right kind of insurance policy.

What is the name of the song that plays on the podium presentation at Vancouver 2010 Olympics?

November 22, 2010 Posted by admin

I like the song, want to see if anyone knows what its called.

It could be the Vancouver 2010 theme song. It’s called "I Believe" and it’s sung by Nikki Yanofski.

Not sure if that’s what you’re looking for though. I haven’t really paid attention to what song they play at the medal presentations.

Where interesting if you are driving from Whistler to Vancouver airport but don"t want to go into the city?

November 22, 2010 Posted by admin

Have 3 hours to spare. Maybe there is something interesting to visit on route?
I have 7 hours in total to drive from Whistler to Vancouver Airport so I am thinking I will have some time to spare. Am going in mid-March. Any ideas of something to do without driving back into Vancouver?

I agree with the others, you will probably need the three hours for travelling with construction on the Sea to Sky Highway and a risk of slides in rainy weather you can’t predict delays. You can’t really avoid the city when you are going from Whistler to the airport. Going the longer route around the city is uneventful and is just surburbia. A real shame in come to Vancouver to not see any of it.
Coming back from Whistler I would stop in Squamish and check out Shannon Falls which are the tallest falls in BC. There are a few spots along the highway coming back as well which you can stop at and take pictures of the amazing views. Drive down to Vancouver perhaps stop in Horseshoe Bay which is located in West Vancouver and check out the ferries, grab something to eat, check out lighthouse park, then drive into Vancouver over Lions Gate Bridge. You can drive around within Stanley Park rather then through it and it is a great quick scenic drive. Just take the first exit after the bridge. You will end up in English Bay and you can head over Burrard Street or Granville Street bridge enroute to the
airport. Have fun.

-The Sea to Sky Highway is very curvy and if you are driving at night it is very daunting, the cornes are sharp in places and the average speed is somewhere around 60km/hour. Police fines are double in construction zones and there is always a cop somewhere along the highways giving out tickets.

What is the best way to get to Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, CA?

November 22, 2010 Posted by admin

What airport should we fly into and then what transportation to the hote? Help me!

The nearest airport is probably Calgary International Airport. You can check with the Banff Springs Hotel to see if they have a shuttlebus service that you can use to get there, or else I would rent a car.

It is very easy to get to. Using Google Maps – Directions, I entered "YYC" as my starting point and "Banff Springs Hotel" as my destination.

im from Philippines about tourist visa for canada?

November 22, 2010 Posted by admin

i want to know if i need to buy a round ticket airfare and hotel accomodation already to travel agency. me and my mom are applying for tourist visa.im touring vancouver canada for 8 days. so my question is what if we get denied will i still get my money back.hope you could answer my questions. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to tell the embassy will not give ur money back when they deny. You have probably got a informational sheet from the embassy where all is written down what you have to bring. What for a round ticket if u want to stay only in Vancouver? And you have an advantage when u have booked the hotel where u want to stay already and it is payed because then the embassy has not to worry how u will pay the hotel and come back. Fred
